Temp mail

Temp mail for your sign-up codes.

A temp mail address from vSMS receives the code a site sends when you sign up, and shows it to you right in vSMS. Your real inbox never sees the sign-up, or the newsletters and spam that tend to follow it.

A working inboxEach address receives the mail the site you picked sends during its sign-up window.
The code on screenvSMS shows the code from the message, so there's no inbox to dig through.
Web and iPhoneOne account: your addresses and codes are the same in the browser and in the iPhone app.
How it works

Temp mail in three steps.

1

Pick the site

Switch vSMS to E-mail, choose the app or site you're signing up for, and one of the available domains.

2

Use the address

Copy the temp mail address into the site's sign-up form and ask it to send the code.

3

Get the code

The code appears in vSMS when the message lands. Type it in to finish signing up.

Good to know

What to expect.

  • An address is open for one sign-up window, about twenty minutes, then closes. It can't receive a password reset later, so set a password you'll remember.
  • Temp mail only receives. You can't send or reply from a vSMS address.
  • Some sites refuse temporary addresses. If one does, try a different domain.
  • You sign in to vSMS once, with Apple or e-mail, so your addresses and codes stay yours.

Temp mail questions

Temp mail is a short-lived e-mail address you use instead of your own, usually to receive a sign-up code. vSMS gives you an address for each sign-up and shows you the code when it arrives.
