Register Signal without your personal number.

Signal registers every account with a phone number and confirms it with a code. A temporary number from vSMS can receive that code, so you can use Signal without tying it to the number on your SIM.

No code? Your credits come back automatically.

What to use

The right option for Signal.

Signal needs a phone number, so use Number. Pick Signal and a country in vSMS, and register with that number in Signal. vSMS numbers receive codes by text message, so choose a text, not a call, when Signal offers both.

Temporary number

Pick a country, use the number in Signal, and the text with the code appears in vSMS.

How it works

Your Signal code in three steps.

1

Get a number

In vSMS, pick Signal and a country. A country rated High in the country list is a good start.

2

Register in Signal

Enter the number in Signal with the right country code, and ask for the code by text message.

3

Enter the code

The code appears in vSMS. If none arrives in time, your credits are refunded and your next try gets a new number.

Tips

Good to know before you start.

  • Ask for the code by SMS. Temporary numbers can't take a verification call.
  • Set a Signal PIN when Signal asks for one, and keep it somewhere safe.
  • Signal asks for a new code when you register again, for example on a new phone. A temporary number can't receive it by then, so for an account you'll keep for years, a number you keep fits better.

Signal questions

Yes, for registering. Signal sends its code by text message, and vSMS shows it to you. Keep in mind that the number is yours only for that window.
